DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
University Academic Extension Program are now indispensable components of lifelong learning that is not limited by geographical location and national boundaries. It is an educational reality that offers both challenges and opportunities in the new normal. It raises profound and far-reaching implications in regards to the long-term strategies and operational capabilities of Philippine Christian University if it is to survive the pandemic crisis and achieve long-term growth.
The current educational challenges are being confronted with strategies that positively impact the clientele and programs of the university. First, the broad and rapidly expanding partnerships and alliances established at the local, national and international levels.
With the globalization of higher education, various forms of University Academic Extension Programs are manifesting in various forms and modalities. These further create opportunities that we at PCU are immensely focused on, as they will allow us to stay at par with the pace of development in the global arena.
University Academic Extension Programs, therefore, must be properly nurtured and institutionalized in the organizational structure of PCU.
VISION
PCU UAEP will become the PCU arm in becoming the leading University Academic Extension Program provider in the Philippines.
MISSION
Our UAEP Team is committed to working relentlessly with our partners in creating, providing, and sustaining quality education programs and services for our clients Domestic and international.
UAEP was created as a TEAM in January 2020, with members coming from different departments to manage the Total System that enabled the Graduate Extension Program to function.
- UAEP operates 24/7, unlike regular Colleges.
- UAEP allows more direct and frequent leader-manager, peer-to-peer, and manager-subordinate interaction.
- UAEP practices swift communication and fast decision-making. The team also practices initiative, creativity, collaboration, transparency, harmony, and empowerment.
- UAEP has eliminated delays and bottlenecks it is able to respond to and solve student and faculty problems much, much quicker than regular Colleges.
- UAEP has a continuous line of communication with the President who monitors the program and is apprised of program goals, problems, and accomplishments.
In this connection, UAEP now has around 94 program partners and site coordinators bringing in around 4,400 graduate students as of today but is expected to increase further by the end of the year.
UAEP enrollment is about three (3) times higher than the enrollment of regular Colleges.
The University Academic Extension Program Team (UAEP ) now has 230 Part-time Adjunct Graduate Faculty members coming from various industries, disciplines, and professions.
This is more than double the current 123 Full-time and Part-time College (In-Campus) Faculty members of PCU.
